Lama Tsultrim YesheKTC San Diego is very fortunate to welcome Lama Tsultrim Yeshe to San Diego.  Lama Yeshe will lead a weekend of meditation, healing and study as he presents his program, “Healing Emotions”.Lama Tsultrim Yeshe

Lama Tsultrim Yeshe (John Samuelson) has been a student of Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche, Abbot of Karma Triyana Dharmachakra, Woodstock, NY, since 1989. He completed the first traditional Tibetan three-year retreat held at Karme Ling (Delhi, NY), led by Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche. Upon finishing the retreat  in 1996, he received the title ‘Lama.’ He received novice monk vows from H. E. Tai Situ Rinpoche in 1994 and full ordination from Thrangu Rinpoche in 2008.  Lama Yeshe is a retired prison chaplain and also taught Sociology at the university level. He lives in Wisconsin, where he is the director of a meditation center, and teaches at dharma centers throughout North America.  He is especially known for workshops in which participants use Tibetan Buddhist practices to explore the nature of forgiveness and to learn how to heal old wounds. He guides participants with an approachable and open style.

Friday, October 14

10:00 AM – Noon Private Interviews Lama Yeshe will be available for private interviews to provide advice and guidance.  If you would like to talk with Lama Yeshe, please email events@sandiegoktc.org to set an appointment time.
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM On Meditation Lama Yeshe teaches meditation technique, as well as how to identify and overcome obstacles, discuss common misunderstandings and explain the benefits of meditation.
7:00 PM – 8:30 PM Emotional Healing Emotional Healing – Our minds, just like our bodies, naturally will try to heal after an injury. There are emotions, practices and techniques that encourage this process. Join us as Lama Yeshe guides us through these tools.

 Saturday, October 15

 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM Registration Please go here to register online and ensure a seat.  There are only 25 seats available.  We apologize, but if you have not registered, a seat may not be available.
 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM Meditation Instruction and Practice Lama Yeshe will additional instruction and advice on Meditation, including both sitting and walking meditation practices. Meditation time will also be part of this session.
 10:30 AM – Noon Low Self Image:
Creating a Warm Place in Your Heart for Yourself
Many people have an inner troll telling them how bad they are. Tibetans have a saying “If you have a warm place in your heart for yourself, you are comfortable where ever you go.” The focus is on love and compassion for yourself and others.
Noon – 1:00 PM  Lunch Attendees are invited to take lunch with Lama Yeshe.  Lunch will include a period of guided silent eating with Lama Yeshe.  A vegetarian lunch will be arranged.
1:00 PM – 2:30 PM Intermission and
Lama Interviews
Lama Yeshe hopes for a chance to meet and get to know each attendee. He will be available for additional private interviews during this break.
2:30 PM – 3:30 PM Sitting Meditation and Lama Interviews Sitting Meditation. Quiet your mind and prepare for the next teaching.  Lama Yeshe will conduct private interviews again during meditation.
 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM  The Healing Power of Forgiveness Forgiveness heals anger. It is an expression of love. It is easier than you think.

Sunday, October 16

9:30 AM – 10:30 AM Sitting Meditation and Lama Interviews Sitting Meditation. Quiet your mind and prepare for the next teaching.  Lama Yeshe will conduct private interviews again during meditation.
10:30 AM – Noon Depression:  The Up Side of Down Depression is workable. This will include practical advice on how to work with it. Everything in the other talks is useful in working with depression.
 Noon – 1:00 PM Group Lunch Attendees are again invited to take lunch with Lama Yeshe.  Lunch will include a period of guided silent eating with Lama Yeshe.  A vegetarian lunch will be arranged.
 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM Intermission and
Lama Interviews
 Lama Yeshe hopes for a chance to meet and get to know each attendee. He will be available for additional private interviews during this break.
 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM Meditation and continued Lama Interview time Sitting Meditation. Quiet your mind and prepare for the next teaching.  Lama Yeshe will conduct private interviews again during meditation.
 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM Trauma: Using Life’s Manure for Growth Many people experience trauma in childhood as well as later in life. If you look at it as s**t, it is a big problem. If you see it as manure for growth you become wealthy in natural resources. It can actually help you grow spiritually and travel the path.
5:30 PM – 6:00 PM Refuge Ceremony Lama Tsultrim Yeshe will offer Refuge Vows to those wishing to formally enter the Buddhist path.  If you wish to take refuge, please have an interview with Lama Yeshe during the available times noted above.
(Anyone attending the ceremony must either have already taken refuge, or be taking refuge during this ceremony.)
