To enter the path of Bodhisattvas, we must generate the enlightened attitude, or Bodhicitta. Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche

Final Questions and Closing Remarks – Rinpoche’s closing remarks to the attendees, the Sangha and his students

Refuge Vow Ceremony – Taking Refuge is the first step on the Buddhist Path. It is conducted as a formal ceremony during which a person officially becomes a Buddhist. It occurs for most of us as a natural outgrowth of learning about Buddhism and reflecting on what the teachings really mean to us in light of our human condition. It represents our first turning away from our own suffering in the world, and turning toward a genuine spiritual path that can be of benefit not only to ourselves but to others as well.

Medicine Buddha Empowerment – (refuge required)   Medicine Buddha, the Medicine Master and King of Lapis Lazuli Light, is the buddha of healing and medicine in Mahāyāna Buddhism. Commonly referred to as the “Medicine Buddha”, he is described as a doctor who cures suffering using the medicine of his teachings.  The Medicine Buddha Empowerment is considered to be the most powerful blessing for healing, dispelling sickness and for awakening the innate healing wisdom that lies within every individual. The practice of the Medicine Buddha meditation (sadhana), and all the other ways of connecting to the blessings of the Medicine Buddha are much more effective when one has received the Medicine Buddha Empowerment
